I wanted to do a quick update on what's happening with my writing career. It may seem like I'm not active on this website but I have been really busy. If you ever want to chat with me, don't hesitate to use the contact section of the website or to find me on Twitter and Instagram (see icons below).
I had a 15 minute consultation with an agent through the Manuscript Academy where I was advised to make changes to my manuscript to make it suitable for a Young Adult audience. After about a month of rewriting, Dead Ringer (or whatever the publishing house decides to name it) is ready! I've queried a few YA agents this month and I'm hoping one of them likes what I've written. Fingers crossed!
My short story, Bloodsuckers won a first place award in the short story category in a writing contest hosted by the Connecticut Press Club. My story is now being judged at the national level by the National Federation of Press Women and has the potential to win best short story in the nation for 2017! You can see the list of winners here, I'm on the third page: Winners List.
I started a Youtube Channel about the horror genre but I've temporary taken it down. I currently don't have enough time to fully dedicate myself to it as I hoped and I found that it was eating into my writing time which is no good. I might bring it back up in the summer or find a different platform for my content such a podcast or a blog series.
I completed the outline for my second novel, ShadowCast (working title) and plan to work on it this summer and into the fall. It will be an adult thriller novel. I've also submitted a few short stories to a handful of publications and I hope to hear back from them soon.
To everyone who has been supportive during this process including my family, friends, online writer pals, and agents who have given me constructive feedback, thank you so much!
